"Snooze - Remixes 1 & 2"

With the two acclaimed albums he released on Crammed’s electronic music imprint SSR, back in 1996 and 2001, Snooze (aka Dominique Dalcan) set a standard for cinematic downtempo electronic music.

This collection of fifteen tracks (now available for the first time on digital platforms) comprises reworks by Señor Coconut (DE/CL), Isolée (DE), by Mr.Scruff (GB) in a Francophile mood, by US producer Chris Brann aka Ananda Project, Vienna’s Pulsinger & Tunakan, UK electronic music producers Swag, Freaks, Flytronix and Fila Brazillia.
Also included is Snooze’s first-ever track (The Spy from Ankara, recorded in 1995 for our Freezone 2 compilation), Dub Angel, his one-off collab between Snooze and DJ Cam), and three self-remixes by Snooze.

Snooze’s Remixes 1 & 2 inaugurates our new batch of Crammed Archives digital reissue series, which will be rolled out between late March and early July 2023. Remixes 1 & 2 will be followed by the Rare SSR Electronica 1994-01 compilation, which will give a taste of the diverse output of SSR during those years, when the imprint worked across stylistic borders in electronic music and released distinctive techno, house, drum’n’bass, abstract hip hop and future jazz by artists & remixers such as Juryman, Carl Craig, Jordan Fields, Stacey Pullen, Glenn Underground, DJ Spinna, Luke Vibert, Tek 9 and many more (see the full release schedule at the bottom).
