Kasai Allstars is a collective which regoups members from several other bands, including Masanka Sankayi and Basokin. They all originate from Kasai (a Congolese province of the size of France), but come from very diverse musical traditions, such as the Luba and the Lulua, which were thought to be incompatible until these musicians decide to put their resources together and form this "supergroup".

Kasai Allstars x Khalab x Nihiloxica
A unique collaboration between legendary Kinshasa DRC-based collective Kasai Allstars and Italian maverick producer, artist & DJ Khalab.
Entitled I Need a Modem, this digital EP contains the original version of the song, written and recorded over the net in Kinshasa and Rome, as well as a remix by mighty UK/Ugandan band Nihiloxica. It’s out now on Khalab’s label, Hyperjazz.
This is the second encounter between these artists, after their 2021 collaboration, when Khalab remixed Kasai Allstars The Large Bird, the Woman and the Baby for Kasai Allstars’ Black Ants Remixes EP (which also included reworks by members of Nihiloxica, as well as Deerhoof, Ekiti Sound and Martin Meissonnier.
