In the wake of their "Revisited Classics" album (which presented a Brazilian take on bossa-inspired electronic dance music, and was -back in '98- the first album of its kind to come out of Brazil and reach an international audience), Bossacucanova members DJ DaLua, Marcio Menescal and Alexandre Moreira formed a real band, and recorded this lovely album of jazzy electronic bossa nova which heavily features the unique guitar and scat styles of a veteran bossa hero who also happens to be the dad of one of the Bossacucanova guys: Roberto Menescal, a man who has composed many classic songs (such as "O Barquinho" or "Bye Bye, Brasil", a new version of which is featured in this album), and who was one of the most respected artistic directors of Brazil (he oversaw the career of artists such as Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben and Gal Costa).

"Brasilidade" features a  host of musicians (including horn, strings and percussion players) and noteworthy guests such as vocalists Cris Delanno and Ed Motta (Brazil’s soul sensation).
