Ekiti Sound's New Video

Is About Love and Relationships

After the electro-Juju of Chairman and the strange world of aLAcarte pt.2 , here come Home.

This 3rd excerpt off his new album unveils a third aspect of Ekiti Sound’s imaginative, boundary-pushing, multi-faceted world, displaying a pop dimension spiced with funky afrobeat horns & backing vocals, and captivating lyrics (“This is the tears you have to uncry / This is the death you have to undie/…)

The video is set in a fairytale cottage with Leke Awoyinka (aka Ekiti Sound) as the vocal lead protagonist, French movie actress Shemss Audat as his blushing bride, and a child version of Leke —played by William Timeo Mendy Gomis—  mapping the vision that his older self completes through time and dedication to his dreams of living a peaceful life all while being in love. The acts of service, love and reality are laid out in the verses, as Leke keeps it real, quirky and cute with his new bride on the perils of his lifestyle.

Amid life's whirlwind, the video offers a tranquil kitchen ballet, a symbol of love's playful and unpredictable nature.

Crafted under the guidance of the multidisciplinary Franco-American artist Oriane Playner, the video paints vivid strokes on the canvas of "Drum Money," showcasing Ekiti Sound's distinctive storytelling blended into his unique production.

"Drum Money”, Ekiti Sound’s  wildly kaleidoscopic second album, blends Nigerian music, electronic beats and hip hop influences. It was released on 23 June 2023 by Crammed Discs.
